People who have high blood pressure can eat shiatake mushrooms to reduce it. This is recommended by British specialists.
These chemicals contain the chemical eritadenin. It has the ability to block the activity of an enzyme with vasodilating action. And when the vessels shrink, the blood pressure that passes through them increases. This leads to an increase in blood pressure, explains nutritionist Juliet Kelow.
Shiitake mushrooms block angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) in a similar way to ACE inhibitors – a class of high blood pressure medications, Dr. Sara Brewer commented. And it specifies that other types of mushrooms contain the valuable substance erythadenine, but its amount is much less. Such are the chute, the winter booze (enokitaque), and the common boletus.
Magnesium and potassium in the mushrooms contribute to lowering blood pressure, experts say. Other useful substances found in the plant are amino acids and vitamins B1, B2, B12, C and D, which can hardly be obtained during the winter season due to the lack of enough sunlight.
Shiitake mushrooms are not the most popular, making them more expensive than others. It is believed that 6 to 16 grams of dried sponge must be taken per day.
